StandUp-SpeakOut of North Carolina provides advocacy and direct care services for youth and families who have experienced complex trauma as a result of domestic violence.
A client’s eligibility for direct care services begins with a referral. Please click the button below to complete the referral process.
E.P.I.C. is our holistic direct care program for children and adults. We provide therapeutic coaching, case management, safety planning, and therapeutic support groups.
Circle of Hope is an intensive support group for survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, or youth who are witnesses to trauma. Our goal is to increase mental, physical, and emotional stabilization in participants to guide them in feeling confident and regaining their independence. Circle of Hope is offered to adults for 7 weeks, and to youth for 14 weeks.
Bold Economic Advocacy (BEA) is a 7 week financial wellness support group to assist adult survivors in regaining their financial independence. BEA has a bold approach in breaking financial barriers by engaging participants in our match savings, flexible funding, and BEA incentive.
Breathe Life Wellness Circles (BLWC) is a holistic healing space for healing work, sacred storytelling, and healing justice. It is a judgment-free, safe space focusing on reflective activities, personalized self-care, intentional self-development, social and emotional skill-building, and resiliency-restorative practices.

SUSO-NC believes Education + Awareness = Prevention and at SUSO-NC we strive to provide quality and innovative approaches to our Community Outreach Programs. Under our Community Outreach programs we offer Girl SpeakOut, Project SpeakOut, Breathe Life Sister Circles, and Operation SpeakOut.
Girl SpeakOUT program offers artistic self development through our mentorship (Girl SpeakOut Saturday Academy) and summer camp (Empowering Through Art) programming. Girl SpeakOut is designed to motivate and inspire youth on personal development through the utilization of the arts.
Through engaging, and enrichment activities Girl SpeakOut help youth with their overall confidence, build self-esteem and self-worth, and inspire girls to SpeakOut. We develop youth leaders to take on an active role in their schools and communities against all forms of violence. Through arts and crafts, yoga and meditation, dance, self-defense, and theatrical performance, youth will gain the tools and confidence they need to live up to their full potential.
Project SpeakOut is our outreach and prevention program offered to partners in education, community, and faith-based sectors. We offer customized workshops and trainings to fit your specific needs.
For our partners in education we offer Art-Intervention and Mindfulness Enrichment Clubs. Art-Intervention provides therapeutic art to help guide youth in building confidence, self-esteem, managing maladaptive behaviors, and learning coping skills to managing emotional dysregulation. Mindfulness Enrichment clubs help youth find creative and effective ways to manage their emotions, behaviors, and anxiety.
Operation SpeakOut is our annual holiday community service project. The project is focused on providing holiday gifts to local families, survivors, and folks in need during the holiday season. Each year we provide gifts to a minimum of 10 families, along with specialize self care boxes for our youth in our programs.
Breathe Life Sister Circle is a safe space for women from all walks of life. A creative and holistic support group for the community. BLSC provides a judgment free setting for women to have intentional time to practice self care and wellness. BLSC has existed since 2012, offering supportive spaces in various counties in North Carolina. Since COVID-19 we are offering these groups virtually on Zoom.
